my favorite breed of the "Gentle Giants". Once they provided the true
horsepower for our nation's agriculture. Now, just a few remain as a
reminder of an era past.

I live in Gatesville, TX, the County seat of Coryell County.
We are located about 40 miles west of famous Waco, TX.
This area of Texas is well known for the large carpets of Bluebonnets that bloom here in early spring. If you view the photo of bluebonnets please use your "Back" button to return to this page.

The photo on the right was taken in 1988 after the statues on the pedestals and the eagle on the pinnacle were replaced.
