Did God create life on other planets?

During the past years, many television shows and movies have explored the possibility of life on other planets. The possibility also includes aliens coming to earth to make contact with humans.

To complicate matters, an increasing number of people are seeing Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) in the sky. Some even claim to have been abducted by aliens, and then released, with flashbacks every now and then. Recent movies such as "Contact" and "Independence Day" and TV's ever popular "X-Files" are all adding to the confusion.

So, what is the truth behind all of it? Are there really aliens in outer space? How can we be sure there are, or aren't? And what about the people who claim that they have seen extra-terrestrials?

First of all, the Genesis account of creation does not make room for any other beings. Human beings are the only intelligent life form in this universe. That settles the question once and for all. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God made living beings on other planets. So we can be sure that earth is the only populated planet.

Think about it for a moment: If God did create beings on other planets, ask yourself the following questions: Did they also fall when Adam sinned? If they did, Jesus, in His love, would have to come into their planet in their form to die for their sins. The more you think about it, the more illogical it all sounds.

"So how do you explain the reports of people who claim otherwise?" you may ask. There are a few possibilities here. First of all, they could be lying (for whatever reason that we do not know). They could be paid by people who wish to deceive the general public. Secondly, they actually came into contact with evil spirits, disguised as aliens, again to fool the world.

"Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven. For the heathen are dismayed at them." Jeremiah 10:2

The belief in UFOs is very rampant in the New Age movement. That is quite enough to make any discerning Christian suspicious. We know of people who are called channelers, people who can communicate with other beings using their minds. These people are actually open to powerful demonic forces, who can impersonate aliens to deceive people. Even Christians can get deceived, as illustrated by the following true story:

She [Lydia (not her real name)] told me she had had increasingly difficulty reading the Bible until, within the last year, she had been unable to read it at all......

"Every time I open up my Bible,I start to see whirling circles of light in my peripheral vision. As soon as I try to focus my eyes on the words, those lights come to block my vision so that I cannot see the words. I can read any other book without difficulty." ......As I finished praying, the Holy Spirit directed me to ask Lydia if the lights looked like anything she had seen before.

"Why yes, they look just like that UFO!

"What UFO?"

The above is taken from the book Prepare For War by Dr Rebecca Brown, M.D. Whitaker House.

Lydia then went on to relate a time when she spoke to a UFO hovering above her car. This she did despite the Holy Spirit's prompting to ignore the UFO.

When she asked the UFO if they served Jesus on their planet, the UFO responded by saying that they had a choice as to whom they worship. Lydia pressed further by telling them that they do not really have a choice since Jesus is God, and that He created the universe, including it (the UFO).

At that point, the UFO took off. Since that incident, Lydia has had difficulty reading the Bible.

The above true account shows us a few things. Firstly, the demonic nature of UFO apparitions. The demon disguising as the UFO failed the test given in 1 John 4:1-3.

Secondly, Lydia opened a doorway to Satan by delibrately communicating with the demon.

Like the apparitions of the Virgin Mary around the world in these last days, UFO sightings will increase. Believers in the Lord need not be alarmed. We know the truth, and that will set us free from fears and doubts.
