Leon Franklin was the only great grandfather which I ever knew. He was Ella Franklins second husband, and all of the children growing up at that time and even some of the adults referred to him as "Pappa" or Mr. Buddy and everyone loved him. Pappa was as I remember a hard working railroad worker in Houston Texas. I remember he would get up very early in the morning just before light and walk to the rail yard for work and you would see him at dark in the evening time walking slowly up the driveway coming in from work. I guess you could say one of his trademarks was he always had a cigar in his mouth all of the time and somewhat of a quite man.
