Lee Moureaux Harrison (Houston Police Officer)
Sargent Lee M. Harrison, my father was one of the first African American police officer in the Houston, Texas area. He rose to the rank of sargent at a very rapid pace before being wounded on patrol one night in an alley in Houston, Texas which ended his law enforcement career. But Lee's life really didn't start there, after graduating from Charlton Pollard H.S. in Beaumont, Texas he traveled to Prairie View A&M College to play football. After leaving PV he married a lady by the name of Glady and they had no children. After a brief marriage he met and married Helen Jewel Franklin (my mother). Lee M. Harrison is the first man from the left with the sargent strips. |

The names of the other ladies pictured are not known and they are not related. The photo was taken prior to Helen marrying my father Lee M. Harrison pictured aboved.
