Seconf Promise: "I will establish peace in their families"



Reflection

The world at large needs peace. Every form of venture demands peace –business, politics, nations, as a whole. Peace is a by-word today and it was never so far from realization. How many families there are where peace is almost unknown, where there is continual altercation, where perhaps the father is unfaithful, gambler, is not a good man? Where perhaps the mother is not all that she ought to be, proud, not thoughtful, or unkind? Or the children are not obedient, do not show respect nor affection?
Peace is disappearing from the family circles where divorce enters, where love and respect for God are no longer known. Peace, promised by the Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary, is a precious jewel that no human wealth can buy. Are you bringing peace into your home by being patient and thoughtful and kind?

  • Say to the Sacred Heart:
    Lord Jesus, Who dist walk amongst men,
    conversing with them wast found meek and humble of heart;
    we beseech thee to increase in us those virtues ;
    which thou dist love so well,
    so that conversing among our brethen with humility and meekness,
    we may find rest for our souls.AMEN

Probably no other promise has brought more lusters to the First Friday devotion than to know, that not only in life, but also especially in the brink of eternity will the Sacred Heart watch over and protect you.
