Sixth Promise: "Sinners will find in My Heart an infinite ocean of Mercy"

Reflection

The prodigal son of the Gospel, represent the reception Christ ever has for those who have strayed but who returns, penitents, and contrite. The parable of the the shepherd who left the ninety nine sheep in the desert to seek the one that was lost, shows Christ solicitude for sinners on whose return our Lord said “There will be joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents, more than over ninety nine who need no penance.“ Remember Christ came for the lost sheep of the House of the Jews and Gentiles.

  • Do you always retain confidence in the divine power of forgiveness and try to realize that no matter far or how often you may have stray from the path of virtue, it is never too late to repent and upon your return there is special rejoicing in the courts of heaven.

  • Say to the Sacred Heart:
Through his wounds in his body, the secrets of his heart and the great pledge
of his Love is revealed to all of us.
By these openings may I taste how sweet the Lord my God is,
how sweet and mild He is, and how merciful He is
to all that call upon Him in truth,
to all that seek Him, and especially to all that love Him.
My Lord God, grant that I may long for thee
and love thee as much as I would and as much as I should. Amen

Condensed from the"Novena of the Sacred Heart" Catholic Trade Center, Manila,

  • "The all powerful love of my Heart will grant, to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months or nine consecutive Fridays or nine successive days and remember me during my Feast Day, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments. They shall find in my heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death. " is one of the most powerful promise he made to Saint Margaret Mary. Probably no other promise has brought more lusters to the First Friday devotion than to know, that not only in life, but also especially in the brink of eternity will the Sacred Heart watch over and protect you.
