Seventh Promise: "Lukewarm souls shall be rendered fervent"

Reflection

In one books of the New Testament, Jesus said” Because thou art lukewarm and neither hot or cold, behold, I will begin to vomit thee out of My mouth.” It is apparently one of the strongest passages of the N.T. bible.

The state of the lukewarm, it seems, is worse than the sinner, even the hardened sinner. The lukewarm person will have a certain attachment to religious things and will either remain in sin and unappreciative of religious obligations. The condition is such that God is disgusted with the soul and begins to vomit it out of his mouth.

To make lukewarm souls fervent is a miracle of grace. Christ has promised this . However to all, there come a time when religious conviction are not easy to live up to., there are times when the Faith is doubted, when sin is more appealing. It is in such moment when luke warmness is most dangerous.

  • Say to the Sacred Heart:
O Good Jesus, I praise thee, adore thee, and give thee glory
for thy boundless charity, and tenderness of thy All-Loving Heart.
Since from the altar of thy Cross thou hast pourest out for me thy precious blood,
pour out also upon me thy Holy Spirit, that I may learn not to receive so great benefits in vain.
Of what used would it be for me to be washed in thy Blood,
if I were not also enlivened by thy Spirit and thus enabled to keep
spotless the robes that have been washed in thy Blood! Amen

  • "The all powerful love of my Heart will grant, to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months or nine consecutive Fridays or nine successive days and remember me during my Feast Day, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments. They shall find in my heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death. " is one of the most powerful promise he made to Saint Margaret Mary. Probably no other promise has brought more lusters to the First Friday devotion than to know, that not only in life, but also especially in the brink of eternity will the Sacred Heart watch over and protect you.
