Eight Promise: "Fervent souls shall rise rapidly to sanctification"

Reflection

Saints, it has been said, are the wisest and the happiest people of the world. In the religious life, there is greater happiness than in any other walk of life. In the religious life there are young men and woman who have the tasted the sweetest of this earth’s joys, good family connection, the applause of society, the flattery of the press and friends. They have known them all and they have found them wanting. Sanctity is that way.

Not all of us are called to be priest or nuns but it is in the field of religious experience and practice that we can make giant strides. And, the Sacred Heart has promised to those who seek His help that He will aid them, that He will give them grace to advance them along the road of spiritual heroism.

  • Are you satisfied to be but a nominal catholic or do you wish to be a character, noble, strong, and spiritual? Are you striving to become a better person, always ready to help the poor or maybe be a Saint?

  • Say to the Sacred Heart:
Father of Mercies and God of consolation,
Grant us we beseech Thee, that our hearts be made perfect
in union with one another and with the Heart of Jesus,
So that our whole life may be a life of love between Him and us,
and through His mediation our lawful desires may be accomplished. Amen

Condensed from the"Novena of the Sacred Heart" Catholic Trade Center, Manila,

  • "The all powerful love of my Heart will grant, to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months or nine consecutive Fridays or nine successive days and remember me during my Feast Day, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments. They shall find in my heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death. " is one of the most powerful promise he made to Saint Margaret Mary. Probably no other promise has brought more lusters to the First Friday devotion than to know, that not only in life, but also especially in the brink of eternity will the Sacred Heart watch over and protect you.
