Lake Fork is 27,690 acres, located 80 miles east of Dallas, Texas. Surrounding towns include Yantis, Emory, Quitman and Alba. Lake Fork holds title to the state record bass, weighing 18.18 lbs., caught on January 24, 1993 by angler Barry St.Clair. Lake Fork ranks high on the "Top 50 List" of largemouth bass weighing over 15 lbs., making Lake Fork truly the trophy bass lake of Texas. Lake Fork has an abundance of grass, hydrilla and lily pads along with other submerged structures such as trees, roads, bridges, ponds, humps and dams. Lake Fork was opened for fishing in the fall of 1980. It has since gained the reputation of the hottest bass fishing lake in the USA. Lake Fork also offers great crappie, catfish and bream fishing. Lake Fork is the fisherman's dream come true.
