1st question....

Lets suppose we have a Gothic Chess board(10x8) and 8 Maharajah pieces. A Maharajah piece can move like a Queen and a Knight together.
Now lets try to put all the 8 Maharajah's on the 10x8 board in such way that all Maharajah's will not threat each other. And here is one solution:

So the 1st question is: How many different such Gothic Chess positions exist?
Or to say it with another way: In how may different ways (taking into account the board coordinations), we can put 8 Maharajah's on a Gothic Chess board, in a way that no one will threat any other?

SOLUTION:

The answer is 32.
1.a1 b4 c7 e2 f5 g8 i3 j6
2.a2 b5 c8 d1 f6 g3 i7 j4
3.a2 b5 c8 e3 f6 h1 i4 j7
4.a2 b5 c8 d1 e4 g7 i3 j6
5.a2 b5 c8 d1 f4 g7 i3 j6
6.a2 b6 d3 e7 g4 h8 i1 j5
7.a3 b6 d1 e4 f7 h2 i5 j8
8.a3 b6 d1 e8 f5 g2 i7 j4
9.a3 b6 d2 e5 g8 h1 i4 j7
10.a3 b6 d2 f5 g8 h1 i4 j7
11.a3 b6 d2 f7 g4 h1 i8 j5
12.a3 b7 d4 e8 f1 g5 i2 j6
13.a4 b1 c8 d5 e2 g7 i3 j6
14.a4 b7 d2 e5 f8 g1 i6 j3
15.a4 b7 d3 e6 g1 h8 i5 j2
16.a4 b8 c1 d5 f2 g6 i3 j7
17.a5 b1 c8 d4 f7 g3 i6 j2
18.a5 b2 d6 e3 g8 h1 i4 j7
19.a5 b2 d7 e4 f1 g8 i3 j6
20.a5 b8 c1 d4 e7 g2 i6 j3

2d question....

Lets suppose we have a Gothic Chess board(10x8). And we put a number of Knights on it, in such a way that no one will threat any other. Here is an example that we have put 28 Knights:

The 2d question is: What is the maximum numbers of Knights we can put on a 10x8 board, in such way that no Knight will threat any other?

SOLUTION:

The answer is 40.
40 Knights on 40 black squares or 40 Knights on 40 white squares.......

3d question....

In the above Extinction Chess position there is a win in 6 for white. Find it..........

So the 3d question is: White to play and win in 6 moves. What is the solution?
The correct answer should have a winning line for white with 6 moves for him and 6 moves for black. That means to find the optimal defence and attack for black and white respectively....I wrote this as i got some e-mails that asked for clarification. And generally you should know that "find a MATE in X" means "find the best defence and attack there is"

SOLUTION:

The answer is 1.Be3 Qa5 2.b4 Bxb4 3.Bxf7+!! Kxf7 4.Qf3 Bf5 5.axb4 and white threatens a Queen and the last black Bishop so the game is over next move, as black can't make a capture of any white's last piece........
