Some very underrated cards

Br Greg Devine

Well if you look at yu-gi-oh and it's past it is very weird or peculiar.  It all started a couple of years ago and was released in the USA. There were allot of "good" cards back then that are not so good now, allot of cards that no one every looked at and learned how to use and that is what I find very weird.

So here is my top ten list of my top ten most underrated yu-gi-oh cards in the game:

10)  fairy box

9) Magic drain

8.) michizure

7.) Trap hole

6.) Ultimate offering

5.) horn of heaven

4.) Riageki break

3.) book of moon

2.) fissure

1.) wabuku

                           Fairy box

"Each time a monster on your opponent's side of the field attacks, toss a coin and call Heads or Tails. If you call it right, the attacking monster's ATK become 0 only during the Battle Phase. Pay 500 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you cannot, this card is destroyed."

Well that is what it does so it really makes it o every time your opponent's monster attacks you flip a coin and call heads or tails if you call right then your opponent's monster's attack becomes 0 for that turn that is so sweet.

Really though this could be a really good card and all it needs is a lucky toss. They would be taking allot of damage and once you have this on the field it will do more than turn your opponents monster's attack to 0 it will turn there confidence it attack you to zero. What I mean by that is they will have to think twice before they attack you because it could result in allot of trouble and that could get ugly. Here is an example of what could happen.

Player 1. "plays Gemini elf, attacks your injection fairy lily"

player 2. " You play fairy box and pump your injection fairy lily"

player 1. "has NO counters to stop it"

player 2. "flips a coin you call right they take 3400 and that is cool"

So there is an example of what happens when you use this, here are also the pro's and the con's

Con's

Jinzo stops it like every other trap card in the game.

Rely on a coin toss

pay 500 per turn

Pro's

Makes opponents monster 0

they take damage it you call right assuming you have a monster on the field.

Only a common, easily obtained.

Well there are the pro's and all of the con's. As you can see there is really only one bad thing I see about this card I mean it is obvious it relies on a coin flip and that is bad but I mean there is a 50:50 chance that you will call right.

This thing is what I think one of the top ten underrated cards in the game. I have seen very few people use it, although it is not the best it is very good if you cannot afford something else better I mean the thing is a common card so you will get it for about 25 cents at a card store,  I give it a 3/5

Magic drain

Magic Drain
Counter Trap
You can activate this card when your opponent activates a Magic Card. If your opponent cannot immediately discard a Magic Card from his/her hand, negate the activation of the Magic Card and destroy it.

Ok I am sure you have seen this card but if you go to tourneys how often I have not seen one in over half a year. It is what I think very good because it is a win/win situation and a loose/loose situation for your opponent.

So what it does is when your opponent plays a magic card if you activate this card your opponent has to immediately discard one magic card. That means they can't activate jar of greed and discard that if it is a magic card, that is just an example of what the cards means by immediately discard. What makes it so good is the fact that if they decide not to discard than the card does not work and if they do they are getting rid of something that could decide the game for you. Even though the card might not me a pot of greed or a monster reborn it might be a simple mystical space typhoon which might have been used to kill your mirror force which could have been game, wow that was confusing but what I am saying is the simple fact that no matter what card they discard or they do not discard could really help you. There is one thing this card has that not to many other card shvae and that is a win win situation. So here is an example:

Your opponent play pot of greed

you use this magic drain

they discard mystical space typhoon

Ok they just got rid of something that could have been a  serious  threat to you. Maybe it might not look like it but it really is. A simple mst can kill mirror force or magic cylinder.

And here is an example of if they do not discard:

Your opponent plays pot of greed

you use magic drain

They do not discard a card and pot of greed is negated

Pro's

Makes them discard in order for their card to work

Either way you win

Counter trap

only a rare

Con's

Mst (mystical space typhoon) is better and so is imperial order.

Well if you think about it that pot of greed they just stopped themselves from using could have decided the game. What if you only have one monster on the field and the cards they could have drawn were change of heart and monster reborn that could have been game, I am not saying that they would have got the two best cards in the game but they are always loosing when you play this card on your opponent. I give this a 3/5 it is good. This card is not the best but if you do not have mst imperial order than it might be a good card to play.

Michizure

Michizure
Normal Trap
You can activate this card when your monster is sent from the field to the Graveyard. Destroy 1 monster on the field.

A few weeks ago for fun I made a light deck and I added a few of these in. This is one of those cards where I just do not understand why some people do not like it. It is actually quite good.

So what it does is when one of your monster is sent to the graveyard from the field (not hand/deck) (sorry all of you anti don zaloogers lol) But this is good becuase if you are running a michuze you can look at it like one less monster in your opponents deck or at least the way I look at it a man eater bug in trap form.

Pro's

Kills one of their monsters

you can kill your own card if you want to.

you can kill a face down or a face up monster card.

Cons

spell speed 2 not very fast

Could be negated by jinzo/7 tools of bandit

Well it is a really good card just think of all of the cool things you could do I thought of a combo sacrifice a witch of the black forest and get the effect. Or it does not say it has to be when one of your opponents monsters kill one of yours anytime one of your monsters is sent from the field to the graveyard you get the effect making it extremely versatile. I give it a 3/5.

Trap hole

When a monster is summoned with an atk of 1000 or more (excluding special summoning) they monster is destroyed.

Well this card is underrated it kills over 75% of yu-gi-oh monster. It has allot going for it. So pretty much when your opponent regularly summons a monster to the filed w/ an ATK of 1000 or more it is destroyed. That is so kewl lol. So as long a jinzo is not on the field you pretty much get allot of use out of this card just think of the possibilities this thing has. It used to be a deck staple almost everyone ran 3 back when only medal raiders was out. Now if anyone played it people would be like "dude have you not played scents mrd was release" This card I think could really make a come back playing 3 could ruin your opponent. Summon a monster, kill the monster and so one. This is better than bottomless trap hole because this thing can kill the commonly played don zaloog and that cannot despite the hole removed from play effect of bottomless trap hole. I just think there could be a good comeback of this card if allot of good player started using it it seems like every time someone who usually wins the tourney, when they play a card everyone else does too.

Pro's

kills 75% of monsters in game

kills even Don zaloog

not resricted

only super rare nothing to expensive.

Con's

spell speed 2 (slow)

has to be at least 1000 ATK

has to be normal summoned

Well this card could be good and actually it is but no one plays it, Why not? there is better stuff out there like torrential tribute but that is 20$ this you could get out of a starter deck. 4/5 it does kill allot but there are better choices if you have the cards.

Ultimate offering

At the cost of 500 Life Points per monster, a player is allowed  an extra Normal Summon, Tribute Summon, or Set.

Well this card a trap being continuous makes it so that for 500 you get a summon or set or a tribute summon. So for example ion one turn for 2500 lp you get 5 monster on the field and you thought injection was cool on an open field. But really though get them in a open field you can easily win the game in one turn w/ this get out a few 1900's and attack or even get out injection or yata garsu. This thing makes it so that you can get monster out much easier. And if you pay 500 you also get an extra tribute summon if you would like. So in two turns (at least one to set it, it is a trap) so next turn you can get out a few monster s and a couple of tribute summon monsters. If you are playing a monster w/ allot of tributes then you should play this. Also if you play a spell caster/ dark magician deck then you should play this even w/ skilled white and dark magician this would certainly help you out.

Pro's

only a common

only 500 lp for the summon

not limit to how many per turn

Con's

you have to pay 500 lp

spell speed 2 slow

your opponent gets the effect too.

But oh well it is good but does have cons no card is perfect all have cons but I can really see this thing becoming popular if everyone used it and noticed it. You thought marauding captain was good this is 10x better if you are not running a warrior deck the reason I say that is because maurding captain has the warrior protection effect. I give it a 4/5 you can get a one turn win with the right stuff and some lp.

Horn of heaven

Offer 1 of your own monsters on the field as tribute to negate the summon (including Special Summon) of a monster and destroy it.

No one really plays this and to think about it no one really ever did and I actually used to. So what you get is a one for one trade of and this works for any card even JINZO all  cards just like solemn judgment. So when they summon a monster any monster you tribute one of your to kill the one just summoned and that is cool. This is good for getting rid of some really hard cards to get rid of like a jinzo for example.

Pro's

kills anything

counter trap

Con's

hard to get being a ultra rare

you have to kill one of yours first

Well it does have it shares of cons but I think the pro's out weight it.

I give it a 3/5 it is underrated in the fact that rarely no one plays it but it is good try it out before you rip it up.

 Riageki break

PGD-096
Trap Card:
Effect: Discard 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field.

Well this card is so good I think I am going to side deck a few of these because I think it is so good. What this one does is like a tribute to the doomed in trap form. So when you think about it this is even better kind of considering that you can kill any card on the field. You can combo this w/ sinister serpent and play 3 and kill every thing in your site. My friend played three for a while and they killed my deck. This thing does not have to be use just on monsters on anything on the field and that is what makes this card so good and so underrated and that is why I love it. So by discarding one card from your hand you can kill anything on the field cool yes. The reason I think no one really plays this is the fact that they just do not know how devastating it is to kill anything on the field.

Pro's

Kills anything on the field

Use w/ sinister serpent

easy to obtain

trap use on your or their turn

Con's

Spell speed 2

you have to discard a card

jinzo negates it

Ok did I show you how good it is discard a card to kill another card and it is only a common I give it a 4/5

Book of moon

PGD-035 Rare
Magic Card: Quick Play:
Flip 1 face-up monster on the field into face-down Defense Position

This is one of my favorites in the set and only a rare. So this card is versatile isn't it. You can use it in conjunction w/ book of taiyu to instantly re-use flip effects. Or the most commonly use  effect when your opponents goes to attack book of moon it to stop the attack. Or just go and re-use a flip effect. There is also allot more you could do like use it with noble man of cross out or sasuke samuria. This thing I found out can be useful when you have a jinzo and you want to use a trap. That is so cool. This thing can be used in so many ways offensively and defensively that is what makes it good it has saved my hide allot of timeslol.

Pro's

so many uses

quick play

rare

Con's

cannot think of any besides the fact it isn't that fast of a spell speed and imperial order negates it.

Fissure

Destroys one opponents face-up monster with the lowest attack points.

Cool at least I think it is. It pretty much kills at least one monster on your opponents side of the field. The only thing is the monster has to be face-up. But most of the time your opponent will only have one monster face up on the field at any given time any ways. This thing can be very effective if used in multiples of 3. I just do not know why no one plays the thing. It does allot if you think about it and kills any monster and most of the time when your opponent has a high ATK on field it is the only monster so this thing really kills it. This thing is just an all around good card to have considering it kills almost any monster.

Pro's

kills allot

 versatile (many uses)

Con's

spell speed one (really slow)

imperial order kills this thing

So this card is certainly underrated I would rather have allot of other cards but if this is all you got to work with it isn't that bad if you ask me. I give it a 3/5 It will get the job done if it's all you got.

Wabuku

Any damage inflicted by an opponent's monster is decreased to 0 the turn this card is activated.

Well this is the most underrated card in the game. This thing is better than magic cylinder and some say mirror force but I do not want to go that far. I do think it is better than magic cylinder I must have I took out magic cylinder to put this in. This is so cool, so what it does is any damage to you OR your monsters inflicted by your opponents monsters is decreased to 0 during the turn this card is activated. So for one turn you are guaranteed no damage to you or your monster meaning none of them can die and none or your opponents monsters can take of your lp unless they have a special effect. And that is not even the best part it is chainable to anything Heavy storm, mst, hfd the do not keep this thing from not working. This part of the effect is what makes it so good. And even better than most cards in the fact that if your opponent has 5 monster and you have none and you have nothing but this and they use mst on this you can use it and then you take no damage for the whole turn. That is so cool. And this is good if you play goblin attack force, spear dragon, giant orc etc. But the point is that this can be good to keep them alive until you can switch them.

Pros

common (cheap)

stops ALL damage for the turn

Chainable to anything

Con's

There are none I can think of.

Well I am done w/ the list and this is the one I think is the most underrated card in the game you can use it for so much that is what makes it good. And it is only common

Well I am done I hope you like I think everyone should play these this would be a good deck for all of these cards

1x jinzo

2x goblin attack force

2x giant orc

2x spear dragon

2x gemini elf

1x witch of the black forest

Any other monster in a beatdowns deck

magics

staples

2x book of moon

3x fissure

any other cards

Trap

2x ultimate offering

3x trap hole

2x magic drain]

3x wabuku

1x horn of heaven

1x fairy box

3x riageki break

any other trap

Well I am done this might not be a really good deck but in think every thing on the list should at least be tried before you say you do not like it. They are all worth a try no one like kuriboh until recently when people found out nothing can counter it.
