Joey Wheeler is a tuff street kid with a big mouth that gets him in quite a lot of trouble and many think of him as a punk. But he'd do anything for his friends and family he is a good friend. Joey is Yu-gi's best friend, although at first they were enemies they became friends. Joeys and his parents were separated his parents got a devoice and Joey left and became a street kid. He also has a sister who he loves very much Serenity. One day he find out that she is going to go blind and that the only hope is an eye surgery and the cost is around a million dollars and Joey has no way of getting that much money. So there is a new card game sweeping the nation Duel monster is the game. And because Yu-gi's grandfather's soul has been sent to the shadow realm Yu-gi and his friends are going to the Duelist Kingdom Tournament where the winner gets one wish and a million dollars. Yu-gi and Joey both enter and Yu-gi wins 1st give the money to Joey and wishes for his grandfather back. Joey uses the money for his sister's operation and she does not go blind after all. During the Battle City Finals Serenity comes to see her one and only brother Joey compete with the other 8 finalist. Joey is a good friend and has good friends to help him along the way.
