Greg's Review:

Well I think I will start off with a poem today:

When my opponent plays a spell and I cannot stop it that is what I hate

I tried imperial Order but Now I will try Spell Shield Type 8

Ok on to the review,

What we get here is a really versatile card that should definitely be tried if you do not think you have enough s/t spell and trap removal in your deck. With this card you get a magic jammer or a ryoku field built in to one neither one are played anymore often but the fact you get to have both effects doubles the versitaly of the card. So this thing stops quite a few threats like riageki and lots of those stupid spells you can never stop your opponent from playing. From what I have saw Double spell and this are some of the most overrated cards in the new set, while both are ok neither should be played over mystical space typhoon because that is a lot better than this and magic jammer. This is not at all a bad card but running 2 or three of these are pointless when we have a more useful card like mst and other s/t removal. The first effect will rarely be used considering not many widely played cards are targeted spells so that is a con, what are you going to do negate fissure and that is not that commonly played anymore. This thing may be counter but it will not be that useful unless you have sinister in your hand discarding from your hand is not that good of an idea with yata. Still though if you get the card it might not be that bad to try it out, although there are better choices playing this could not effect you that much.

Pros:

negates a magic

only a super not that hard to get

Cons:

have to discard

the first effect only negates targeted spells

super rare

Well not that bad not that good a little higher than average: 3.4/5

SiphonX's Review:

This card is the second best S/T protection card (the best is IO).  It is a mix of Jammer and almost Riryoku Field.  The thing that most people skip in their saying that this is just like Riryoku Field is that Riryoku Field negates targeted Spells including ones targeting monsters not on the field.  (i.e. Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, AAU, etc...)  SST-8 is a great card to play in decks that require more protection (Exodia, Destiny Board) and other decks that just have space for 1 more trap card.  I feel that there is nothing more to be said about this card other than it can save you.
