Greg's Review:

I will start off with a poem today:

When you have a card like this it gets your opponent pissed, to play this mediocre card you must have been bribed because in a beatdown I would never play Cat's Ear Tribe:

Ok first off I have to say this card is not at all as bad as it seems. At first you see a 200 Atk and a stupid waste less effect but you are wrong. Although this card is not the best card for every deck it is a really good defensive wall although this is vulnerable to spell and trap removal that should be no reason to not consider playing it. So what happens is when your opponent's monster attacks this it dies along with this and you take no damage. So that is not that bad of a good defensive monster it will certainly stall your opponent at least till they get a spell or a trap to get rid of it.

Pro's

just a rare

great effect

good fro stalling

Con's

your opponent does not have to attack it

dies after attacked

So I guess overall this is a pretty good card if you need to stall this is not a bad choice considering to kill it with a monster you must suicide killing both and no one likes to do that. But most of the time it will not be that much of a problem if your opponent has more than one monster on the field. If you need to stall that is what Spirit reaper is for.

Combo's

You could put a and a Heart of Clear Water on this making it kill anything that attacks it or use it with Kishido spirit.

overall I give it a little better than average 3.2/5

This card is mainly used for protection against really powerful monsters.  Summon it in attack mode and watch your opponent waste an attacker on a pitiful card with 200 attack.  There are ways around this however, such as Dark Ruler Ha Des.  Of course there is always the general monster removal, but if you happen to run into a Mystic Tomato then it becomes a problem because you just gave them fuel for their fire. The same thing goes with any other searcher like Sangan, WotBF, Giant Rat, etc...  Though this card has many downsides to it, it has the potential for destruction if you decide to play it in attack mode.  One good combo is Cat's Ear Tribe + Kishido Spirit, which provides a great wall.  I have seen this card used in disorganized beatdowns a lot lately, but i have failed to see it used appropriately.
2.4/5
