Greg's Review:

Ok a bit outdated and was severly overrated by many including my self ok here is the link to my 1st review on it circa July when I was a rookie. Magic Cylinder Review 7/20/03.

Rather than write a full page lets just say the meta-game has changed. To much s/t removal.

3/5

Nick's Review:

Well apparently its overrated week so lets start this off. This card was once considered a staple until a a few months ago when it was just alright. The problem is you can't chain this card to basically anything where you can with waboku. This means if they mst it it becomes useless where if you had waboku you could have activated it. This card has won me at least 20 duels but its pretty good. You will usally do 1900-2300 damage and stall so thats cool.
I give it
3.75 not necessarily a staple but good none the less.

This card has always been a favorite of mine, it being one of the two best Unchainables, it works rather well.  Although some duelists have stopped using this card, it still is a good idea to sideboard this bad boy.
The key to using this card is to not wait for a high attacker to hit the field before using it, because if you do, you may never get to activate it at all.  It can easily turn the tides of a game; it has very good manipulative power.  You can use this card to hold back the attack of one monster, but this card sucks when facing multiple monsters.  You can use it right when the opponent is dealing the final blow...pull a bluff on them.  Although it has quite some potential, and it rocks against Beatdown and Hand Control decks, it has quite a few problems as well.  It is completely unchainable to all Spell/Trap removal, which lowers its effectiveness greatly.  It is still an all around good card, but used mainly when there is open space in a deck.
On a sidenote (sorry I am getting off-track), this card can be interpreted incorrectly.  Negating means that the attack stops; there is no damage step.  I have heard many a duelist after seeing that their Injection Lily being repelled by this card state, "And I choose to not pay."  There is no choice; there is no damage step.  Negate = Stop.  A stopped attack does not enter the Damage Step.
I do think this card deserves a bit more credit than is given to it.
Overall:  4.15/5
Draft:  4.9999/5  4000 LP = DEADLY
Limited:  4.9999/5  No S/T removal...

Keith's Review:

I'm going to call this week's card of the Days "things change" week.Let's put a little chart why don't we. Ring of destruction>Magic Cylinder>Judgement of Anubis. Anyway, this card was really good until everyone started playing 3 MST, HFD, Breaker, and Heavy Storm. It's getting impossible to activate it. I'd rather have a game-breaking effect come from these unchainable cards like Torrential or Mirror Force.

Casual 3.4
Tourney 2.5

Negate the attack of 1 of your opponent's monsters and inflict Direct Damage equal to the attacking monster's ATK to your opponent's Life Points.

Pros:
Negates one attack
Burns some lp at your opponent

Cons:
Isn't chainable
Fears MST, duster, heavy, dust tornado, etc..

When this card first came out, it seemed pretty good.  But as the sets went on and more S/T removal beacame more common, this guy was looking better in the shoe box.

The life point burnage is cool and all, but really it would be better if it stopped all of the monsters.  That being said, Negate Attack is a better choice then this.  And whats even stranger is that waboku is better then negate attack because its chainable.

This would probably work best in a burner/staller deck.  Otherwise just stick with the waboku. Form playing that card, i to found out that waboku was better in that sort.

Casual- 4.2/ 5  Fun card but just sometimes risky and at the same time can be game ending

Tourney-  3.8/5  Same as before but here your playing a little more serious

Draft-  4.9/ 5  with lp only at 4000 and S/T removal so rare, this could end the game in just a few turns

Ernest's Review:

Decent Effect... Just a bit Outdated X.x I remember in the good old day when nobody played m/t, I mean S/t removals. Anyway Since it can't be chained I'd rather either use it as TRADE BAIT. I've seen this card in action several times but now I'd definitly replace them with Waboku. Think Smart.

Rate:     tourney-       6/10  (go with Waboku)
           draft-           7/10
