Summon Skull

Greg's Review:

Well an old card here not so popular any more as it used too. Back in the day it was a staple or so I hear. But now you may see it in a beginners deck and that is about all. It is has lost it's popularity for the simple fact that there are better tributes than this and speed is even more important. Know with Jinzo Vampire Lord and many others this is obsolete any where out side of a fiend deck.

And we have many higher 4 stars even Goblin is better. So this is just not so good any more. It used to be good and now it is not. You rarely see cards with out effects with the exception of Gemini All my cards in my deck and many others have effects. So for these reasons this is not so good.

only thing going for this is it is easy to get and it kills jinzo.

2/5

Ernest's Review:

Yap Friday is upon us... Summoned Skull Huh? Let's see...I like its stats. The best 1 tribute Atk power monster for now and searchable by witch. For all noobs or beginners out there I'd recommend this card. Very powerful and a Jinzo killer. It's decent, plus a fiend so it'd work in a fiend deck (but not over Ha Des). I think this card has lost it's value, as most of the cards that we reviewed this week. (Hopefully Next week we'll look at some nice cards) There are better 1 Tribute effect monsters, so unless your on a low budget or a beginner I'd suggest using other 1 tribute monsters. Archfiend of Lightning, in my opinion, is not better than this card, because of the lp costs, plus it's not garuneteed that it'll survive the next turn, and only works on a specifically designated target, so if your deciding between the 2, unless your playing an Archfiend deck, go with Summoned Skull. Summoned Skull is not worth playing in most decks (as in beginners should play it) but Everyone else stay away from it and go with your better 1 tribute effect monsters like Airknight. =)

Tributes are too hard to get out, and when they do get out, they better have some really good effect or it's the core of your deck ie Dark Magician. Take Jinzo, his effect kicks some serious tush. But this, just a sad excuse to add 600 atk to a Gemini or something. I'd rather play a Malevolent Nuzzler because you don't need to kill your own monster and it'll be more powerful. Lost it's touch

Casual 2.4
Tourney 1.99

Tyler's Review:

Summoned Skull

Pros:
2500 atk
Fiend
Witchable

Cons:
One tribute
We want cool effects now i.e. Jinzo, Airknight, Dark Ruler, Vamp

More of when the game started it was basically if you got this guy out, you were gonna win it, in somes few that is.  But in the game now, we don't see this guy as much.  Instead we are seeing more of the better tributes like the ones I already motioned.  As I and other believe, the game has really changed and it's more effect monsters that do the job.  Even though this guy could run over a lot of monsters, wouldn't you feel better to have Jinzo do the job and stop the traps to, or Dark Ruler totally negate the effect of it.

There are few decks to put him in now.  Fiend decks could...COULD... use it but I stik with the Dark Ruler for the effect.  Upper Deck said it's an Archfiend monster also so it could go in that kind of deck, unless you want to use the counterpart Skull Archfiend of Lightning, which some people are turning to just because it has an effect, it may not be THAT good but it has a somewhat decent effect.  Also could fit into the standard beatdown or budget deck.  It's in the Yugi Starter Deck so it's not that hard to get.

More things about it is well....Remember, best used in either Budget beatdown, Archfiends, or Budget Fiend deck.

Casual-  2.6
Tourney-  2.9 (higher if in a good deck)
Draft-  4.1  Good monster to pull with a good attack

Note:
I guess my Swords of Revealing Light Reveiw wasn't posted for some reason so here were my points for it:

Casual- 3
Tourney-  2.5 (with most competative decls playin Harpie's Feather Duster, Heavy Storm, 3 MSTs, and Breaker, it's luck if it'll last 1 or 2 turns)
Draft- 4 (with less S/T removal it's not a bad choice)
Artwork- 3.5 ( its cool,  btw i had a guessing game with one of my friends.  He was to guess what card in English had guns instead of swords. It was Don Zaloog but for some reason he thought it was this and said Guns of Revealing Light!  I thought it was funny.

Nutbus2:'s Review:

This is a good Beatdown card, especially for a Level 6 monster. This is also one of the few Tribute monsters that can be "Witched". This was also the first "Retrained" monsters, meaning a Normal Monster that has an Effect version. The retrained version is called Skull Archfiend of Lightning, from the Dark Crisis set.

I give this card a 9.8/10. A very powerful monster for a skeleton.
