Very likely the most well known voice actor due to his recent marriage to Helen Hunt and his many on-screen roles, Mr. Azaria is a fantastic actor.
His voice is wonderful, but when he adds one of the many accents in his repertoire, it becomes unsurpassed. Some of his roles include Bartok (“Oh, Bartok!” says Larissa), Apu Nah-something-or-other (my personal fave), Moe the bartender, Chief Wiggum, and several other characters on the Simpsons.
Mr. Azaria is one of the few voice actors I have seen, aside from blurry photos on the Internet. He was on the Late Late Show in December 17th or 18th. In watching this, I found out that I had been pronouncing his last name wrong. I was saying the ar like are, when it should be like air.
Mr. Azaria won the 1998 Emmy for 'Outstanding Voice-Over' for his role as Apu, and earned an Annie Award Nomination -- Outstanding Individual Achievement for Voice Acting by a Male Performer in an Animated Feature Production in November 1998 for his role as Bartok.
I first saw his name at the end of Anastasia, but really started paying attention to him upon learning that he is Apu.
