Work Experience
Marketing Department, Steck-Vaughn Co., 1998-99
In the Marketing Department at Steck-Vaughn, I have been involved with the storyboarding and production of company presentations, videos, and slide-shows
. My responsibilities include non-linear editing and compositing. I have designed and produced animations to augment these presentations, and am working on animations for the company web page and intranet that is in the process of being re-designed. I have also been using Photoshop to adjust images for use in a variety of slide-shows, presentations, videos, and the web.
Freelance Animation, GraphX, 1998
GraphX, a local multimedia company, approached me to help them out with some 3D animation. One of their clients needed a self-promotional CD-ROM, and I was hired to supply the necessary animation to compliment GraphX’s existing design. I designed and animated the introductory teaser from start to finish, as well as several internal animations throughout the project.
Assistant to the Director of Student Activities and Orientation, SCAD, 1996-98
As assistant to the Director, I was one of two people in full control of all concerts, lectures, comedians, and functions for the college. We had an impressive budget in our hands, and we brought such nationally known acts as Tony Bennett, Dave Matthews, Blues Traveler, and The Wallflowers to the college. My role included budget planning, promotion control with the local radio stations, and numerous tasks backstage on the day of the shows. I also became a member of the Hiring Committee for SCAD administration.
Student Director of Freshmen Orientation, SCAD, 1996-98
While Student Director of Freshmen Orientation, I was assigned the daunting task of running a week-long orientation program for nearly two-thousand incoming students. I was responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and managing a team of thirty Orientation Leaders, as well as teaching a seminar class to the new students to help acclimate them to their college environment.
