Renowned
Romantic Pianist Celebrates Ten-Year
Anniversary
With Long-Awaited Best Of Collection
Jim
Brickman, whose distinctive piano virtuosity has personified pure romance for
audiences of all ages, celebrates his tenth anniversary as one of Windham
Hill’s premier recording artists and songwriters, with a long-awaited
collection of his most beloved performances on Jim Brickman Greatest Hits. The CD will be released on May 4.
Capturing
all the evocative and enduring artistry that has made him among a handful of
the great romantic musicians/songwriters of our time, Jim Brickman Greatest Hits gathers eleven Brickman classics on one
CD and features two new tracks recorded especially for this collection. The
release coincides with an extensive touring itinerary with additional 2004 U.S.
dates to be announced for the fall and holiday seasons, as well as a tour of
South East Asia in July.
Jim Brickman Greatest Hits highlights
such chart topping hits as “Valentine” (with Martina McBride), “The Gift” (with
Collin Raye and Susan Ashton), and “Simple Things,” (with Rebecca Lynn Howard)
The romantic collection also features the stand out tracks “Love Of My Life,”
(with Michael W. Smith), “Destiny (with Jordan Hill and Billy Porter, “By
Heart” (with Laura Creamer) and “Partners In Crime” (with Dave Koz).
Exclusive new tracks include “’Til I See You Again” (with Mark Schultz) and “My Love Is Here” (with Canadian vocalist Roch Voisine). And, no Jim Brickman retrospective would be complete without the signature instrumentals “Rocket To The Moon,” the Olympic theme, “Hero’s Dream,” “If You Believe,” and his first soaring instrumental chart hit, “Angel Eyes.”
“I cherish the collaborative process,” Jim Brickman writes in the liner notes of his greatest hits collection, “and I have been lucky to work with some truly gifted people.” From the evidence of the guest artists who have joined him in the studio and on stage, the feeling is mutual. The pianist and songwriter’s extraordinary ability to capture and convey the essence of a love song has made him one of the most sought-after collaborators in modern music.
With a
career that spans ten albums, four of which have been certified gold and a
string of sold out concerts and sales of almost six million units worldwide,
the Cleveland, Ohio native has garnered an intensely loyal following for whom
his distinctive piano playing is the quintessential expression of romantic
spirit. It’s no wonder he has garnered a Grammy nomination, a pair SESAC
Songwriter of the Year awards, a Dove Award, a Canadian Country Music Award,
and a wide television audience for his acclaimed PBS specials and regular
appearances on the Today Show. It is
a reputation consolidated by best selling concert DVDs, his own weekly
syndicated radio show, “Your Weekend with Jim Brickman,” and his widely read
book of insightful essays, Simple Things. His second book, Love Notes, is scheduled for release later this year.
Jim
Brickman’s remarkable Windham Hill catalog includes such perennial bestsellers
as By Heart, The Gift, Destiny and Picture This, which debuted at number
one on Billboard charts.
Aside from
his widespread fan base in America, Jim Brickman has gathered enthusiastic
audiences worldwide, thanks to sold out performances in such locales as
Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines, Korea, Japan, Thailand, England, Germany,
Mexico and Canada, among others. For
