OLD-FASHIONED LITHUANIAN CRACKER STUFFING INGREDIENTS:
Cook celery and onions in oleo until tender, adding chopped giblets if desired.
- 1 Cup chopped celery
- 3/4 Cup chopped onion
- 4 tbsp. oleo
- 2 Cups Saltine cracker crumbs
- 3/4 Cup Milk
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tbsp. minced parsley
- 1 tsp. sage
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Dash of pepper
- Chopped giblets (optional)
Add milk to coarsely crushed cracker crumbs. Stir in onion mixture, egg, parsley, sage and thyme, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Makes 2 1/2 cups stuffing, enough for 3-4 pound chicken.
