For A Friend
Once sat an Elf with a tear in her eye
When a wondrous Dragon did happen by
Landing softly beside, wings about her he placed
All her fear and heartache quickly erased
Neither Truer nor Braver Friend she ever will find
Than the bright Golden Dragon to whom she did bind
Wherever she may travel, wherever she may roam
Within her a touch of the dragon, that she may never be alone
The gift that was given, nothing asked in return
Her most precious memory, though her heart does still yearn
To again see his face, feel safe within his wings
Because of him she can see, the beauty that she brings
To many who have need of a friend or a dilemma to share
Now it is her turn to stop when she sees a lone tear.
