TRIBUTE TO MY DAD

Years ago a very young man kissed his mother goodbye
Leaving his home not knowing whether he would live or die
He was traveling to a foreign land and into harms way
To fight for the freedoms we all enjoy today.

I am so grateful that he answered the call
By serving his Country freedom is experienced by all.
That young man made it home and for this I am glad
For that young man became my caring and loving Dad.

Not too long ago another young man kissed his mother goodbye
She stood in the doorway, trying not to cry
He is serving his Country just like Dad had done
Following in Dads footsteps is my young son.

Dad, I am forever grateful for the service that you gave
I know in my heart that you are very brave
You will always be my hero, no matter where I go
I am proud of you and love you, this I wanted you to know.
