2005 marked the return of the winter guard activity to the Ferndale Community since the successful, FHS sponsored "UTOPIA Winterguard" (1993 Flag Line Champion; 1995 Mich A Champion; 1997, 1998, 2000 Scholastic A Champion) has been active. Today, the Ferndale Winterguard is sponsored by the Ferndale Arts Boosters, and continues to be an extension of the school's marching band program, the 2004, 2005, and 2006 MCBA Flight III State Champion.
