ALOHA! MAHALO NUI NO KIPA ANA MAI!
Hui Hawai'i O Utah Hawaiian Civic Club is a grass roots non-profit organization dedicated to the teaching and perpetuation and preservation of our Native Hawaiian Culture. Our club was first organized in November of 1985 and we became chartered members of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs in November of 1986.
Since then we've been active in the community, participating in such events as Living Traditions Celebration, assisting with the South Salt Lake Columbus Center's Annual Lu'au, we have our Annual `Ohana Retreat, and NUMEROUS cultural activities and workshops throughout the year.
We believe and understand that our greatest resource is our people and we are committed to assisting and encouraging their growth in all things. To that end, we've also started KAWAIULU, which offers Hawaiian culture and language classes. The purpose is to increase the amount of resources available in our community.
We are also committed to being the best advocates possible for our people and our community. We are active in Native Hawaiian issues and continue to host discussions and workshops in the community for such issues as the Akaka Bill, Na Iwi Kupuna, Mauna Kea, Haleakala, and many other Native Rights issues. We always welcome and encourage everyone to attend.
