Sandy Rogers (1979-1982)
RB/DB, 5' 11", 185 lbs
Started his career as a 9th grade long snapper on punts. Became the major threat on BLUES teams in the early '80. Rushed for a career total
of 2285 yards in the face of defenses stacked against the run. A long
distance threat anywhere on the field. Rogers recorded long distance TDs rushing (74 yards),
kickoff return (90 yards) and punt return (42 yards). An ALL STATE
selection in 1982. Gained even greater fame with the Emory and Henry
football program receiving Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Little All American
recognition.
