Jackie Mabe
On one extraordinary night in 1972, Jackie Mabe went into the RHS record book. In a battle of two District Champions, the Richland's BLUE Tornado defeated the Lebanon Pioneers, 27-14, at Ernie Hicks stadium. Mabe amassed 285 rushing yards on only 13 carries and scored two touchdowns. The scores came on a 1 yard and 19 yard scamper. |
Tommy Keene
Tommy Keene put the Golden Wave of Grundy in a deep hole that eventually led to a 30-12 victory by the BLUES during the 1974 season. After a 6 yard touchdown run, Keene outran the Wave defenders on a 96 yard run, one of the longest in RHS history. He finished the evening with 199 rushing yards on only 20 carries. |
Brandon Breeding
In leading the BLUES to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, Brannon Breeding rushed for a season record 1580 yards. During the playoff march, he added another 569 yards on the ground. His 46 rushes in the STATE semi-final game against Salem is a VHSL record. An all purpose back, Breeding averaged 19 yards per kickoff return, 10 yards per punt return and 10 yards per reception. He scored 156 points for the BLUES during the regular season and added another 3 touchdowns in the playoffs. |
