Albert Forst, Deputy
Inspector General under the Grand Council of the Princes of Jerusalem at
Charleston, SC, as early as February 20, 1788. |
Joseph Myers, Deputy Inspector
General in South Carolina at about the same time, visited Richmond and was
responsible for conferring the Scottish Rite degrees upon a number of
Virginia brethren. |
James
Penn
(1794-1870) charter member of Virginia Consistory, which was established at
Lynchburg on November 16, 1824, became later its Commander-in-Chief, received
the 33° from Albert
Pike in 1859, and was made an Active Member of the Supreme Council the same
year. In 1861, he was made Lieutenant Grand Commander of the Supreme Council
and was transferred to the list of Emeritus Members in 1866. |
John Robin
McDaniel (1807-1878) was made Commander-in-Chief of Virginia
Consistory in 1846, an Active Member of the Supreme Council in 1847, and
Lieutenant Grand Commander in 1870. He retained these last two offices until
his death in 1878. |
John Lonsdale Roper (1835-1921)
elected an Active Member and appointed Deputy of the Supreme Council in
Virginia and North Carolina in 1878. He was transferred to the Emeriti List
in 1886. |
John Frederick
Mayer
(1840-1919) was the Deputy of Inspector General Roper from 1883 to 1886. He
then served as Sovereign Grand Inspector General and Active Member from 1888
to 1919, holding also at various times the following Supreme Council offices:
Grand Sword Bearer, Grand Standard Bearer, Second Grand Equerry, First Grand
Equerry, and Grand Chamberlain. |
Robert Shields
Crump
(1862-1949) received the 33° in 1911,
and after the death of John Frederick Mayer became Deputy of the Supreme
Council in 1919, then, in 1921, an Active Member of the Supreme Council and
S.G.I.G. in Virginia. He has held the following offices in the Supreme
Council: Grand Herald, Grand Standard Bearer, First Grand Equerry, Grand
Minister of State, and Grand Chancellor. |
Robert South
Barrett (1877-1959) received the 33° in 1927 and
after the death of Robert Shields Crump became the Deputy of the Supreme
Council in 1949. In 1951, he became an Active Member of the Supreme Council
and S.G.I.G. in Virginia was elected to serve the Supreme Council as its
Grand Almoner, which he continued to do until the time of his death. |
Charles E. “Ted”
Webber (1900-1990) became the S.G.I.G. in Virginia in 1959 after
the death of Robert South Barrett.
From 1963 through 1975, he served the Supreme Council as the Grand
Treasurer General and from 1975 through 1981, he served as the Lieutenant
Grand Commander. He was place on the Emeritus List in 1981 and passed away in
1990. |
Louis Douglas
Delano (1914-2001) was appointed Deputy in Virginia of the
Supreme Council in 1981 and served as this until 1983. |
David Kruger (19??- ) received the 33° in 1963,
was appointed Deputy of the Supreme Council in Virginia in 1983 and became an
Active Member of the Supreme Council and S.G.I.G. in Virginia in 1985. He
was elected Grand Secretary General at the Biennial Session of the Supreme
Council in October of 1989. He seved as the Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Virginia, the office to which he was elected in 1985 until he retired on December 31, 2002. |
James Dean Cole (1958- ) has been a member and later officer of the Valley of Roanoke since 1991, where his many services were recognized with the Scottish Rite honors of KCCH in 1997 and 33° in 2001. He was appointed Deputy of the Supreme Council in the Orient of Virginia on January 1, 2003 and continues to serve in the position. |
