Planning and dreaming and yearning all the time for you
when that day the doctor foretold.
"Your baby will die; he has no brain."
the doctor said to you that day.
The pain you felt and feel for him
I cannot fathom; your child taken away.
You carried your son until the end
October 21st.
Fifteen minutes and then he was gone
the bubble of life for him had burst.
You cannot hold your baby now
in your arms, or read to him.
Yet he will always be in your hearts.
with the memory ever vivid of that day and him.
