"15 Minutes To Shine"
Mom’s looking at the passing vanity plates
Brother’s busy filling up his face
Dad’s currently staring off in space
And I’m here, left in the driveway
This is just daily life
In the car, the house
In a plane or with a mouse
We all want to be recognized
Just give us all
Fifteen minutes to shine
Mom’s watching TV – lifetime
Brother’s playing with his lifeline
Dad’s getting cheese with his whine
And I’m waiting for my time to drive to get away
Mom’s asking for more cups
Brother’s acting like a duck
Dad’s wanting more peanuts
And I’m wishing they’d all shut up – embarrassing
Mom’s redecorating the abode
Brother’s picking the mouse’s nose
Dad’s being sprayed with a hose
And I’m questioning if I’m the only sane one
Left to keep the family going
