"CVS Bike Ride"

Trying to find you to come back home
So I went on the route I knew alone
I wasn’t so much a tyke at the time
Just me on my bike enjoying the ride

Barefoot, no helmet, just jeans and a shirt
Went on my way, car windows, dare I flirt
Raising my hand I shouted “Haha, see ya passerby”
I passed in front of them with my hand in the sky

Wondering where you are
I think wide and far
Which CVS did he mention?
I should have paid attention

Pedaling with my breezey feet
At the stop sign, I was sure to meet
With a cop about as old as my dad
He looked at me as if I were a nomad

Asked of my name, age, and number
Called my house to receive a line in slumber
My sister was occupying the house phone
The number to the cellular was known

Mom answered and the policeman talked
About me as if I had never walked
The Earth before and he wanted to make sure
That I wouldn’t anymore from what I gathered

Levi’s Silver-Tabs on my a**
My bike sure was fast
Too bad it was taken away
After this situation went disarray

Darrel was at the other CVS
Sure enough, it was just a guess
That I went to the wrong area
I spewed cuss words like diarrhea

It’s all your fault
I would assault
You if I were capable
But I’m civil and sane
Not like Cain
You’re not Abel

Sorry to bring this to your attention
I’d just like to resolve any tension
That you feel against me, just twiddlin’
My thumbs until you reply and take your Ritalin

Dunkin’ Donuts was where I was “pulled over”
Thank God I didn’t have the right to remain silent
Ironic it was – Too funny to be true – a crossover
Because once he was done – he went around to the drive-in
