"Dead By Now"

A centimeter between
The likenesses are seen
The devil and I
Don't see eye to eye
But still, we're not at all
So different, if I recall
Heaven and Hell aren't located
On a map, so why are we so fixated
On where we go after we pass
I think for now, I'll sit and relax

But you shove it down
And make me swallow
All of your damn beliefs
My thoughts are hollow
You're callow, so shallow
Been burned and aloe
Won't heal the pain
Intentionally going insane
Oh lend a hand, please help
Tell me you've felt like I've felt

Too bad it's all BS in the end
You think you'll always have a friend
In the One and only above so high
So busy, so dizzy, I told a lie

(and) If I was so bad
Don’tcha think I’d be dead by now?

So I’ve done a little of EVERYTHING
Does that really make me sinfully ignorant?
God only offers Himself when He feels
He hasn’t messed up my life completely yet

I can express what I want
In front of someone I just met
But family is another story
Only because they don't let
Me speak on my own behalf
They think they know the exact
Answer that will come out
So they just use my voice to pout
And make it so I'm blamed
For their own personal flaws
And it's really not even my fault

Too bad it's all BS in the end
You think you'll always have a friend
In the One and only above so high
To tell, to excel, eh, I told a lie

So the world isn’t perfect
So I’ve chosen to adapt
So I came close with death
3 times it’s crossed my path
Where was He when this was taking place?
Probably lounging in the paradise, He stays
Sat in front of the world television
But he notices war is on the mind
But doesn't even take the time
To make an effort to inspire some kind of peace
If He really cared, wouldn't He stop it
Sure as hell looks like he aims to please

This is my "I'm angry with God" song. Right before I started to pursue Him genuinely. Now that I look back on this song, I sound like all of the kids I talk to on a daily basis. There really was no getting through to me back then, but God softened my heart to hear what He had to say. I'm thankful.
