"Death Watch"

You won’t hear my silence
You won’t see my blindness
Calm, you sat watching
Trying to listen for a sound
A sound, any sound from my mouth
“This is your death watch,” I sing

Let it fall from my hand
Had no time to fill demands
He’s gone and I watched him
Disappear within seconds
‘Cause I clocked him

Cried one or two last tears
He was sad, it was clear
He stood and then fell
Gasping for air
Took one last exhale

Eyes tell the stories
Mouth’s filled with worries
All that is muttered
Is a stammered stutter
“I miss my life and my faith
Wish I could go back, but it’s too late”

Time has ticked the tock
Until the time on the clock
Buzzes and rings
Then one can wake from this DREAM

Man is alive
Almost died
Played the game
Just the same
Please change the constant
Before it strays in an instant
No time, it’s literal
Conditions critical
