"Fear The Unknown"

Why not go to the end of the road?
Why not find out the unknown?
Why turn around when things get rough?
Why give up when the objective’s tough?

Johnny prepared to reach the top
Many days and many nights spent
Hiking, biking, and sometimes he’d walk
Thought he’d go on, but he thought (it was time)
To pitch a tent to go back home
He was the kind to fear the unknown

I knew Johnny well and he was the guy
Who said he’d do something but in the end denied
Ever saying such a thing when money
Was brought into it, he never lost a bet
Until he set his goal on the mountain
To climb, to set foot at the top crowdin’
With the trees, the grass, and the stones
What can I say? He feared the unknown

There was another Johnny who did
What the other wouldn’t
He had no choice but to move on
Like the other couldn’t
He had faith, he had love
He knew the Man up above
He had everything going for him
He didn’t mess around
He got to the top of the mountain

Johnny and Johnny were two different guys
One feared reaching a goal
While the other sold his soul to the Heavens
And they led him to the top with no setbacks
Temptation for the other Johnny came into contact
And it was to return to his cozy home
Rather than achieving his goal
He feared the unknown

Things never happen like this, so they say
‘Til it occurs to you one fine day
God can get you there
If you think you share
The same feelings as he does
And if you believe Jesus was
