I just couldn’t resist
Had to share my gift
That You let me have so easily
And so I’m bad almost eagerly
Got involved at the wrong time
Now I can’t take this seriously
Promise me you won’t drink and drive
Because that’s what most makes me worried
Please follow the lines
Please follow the laws
I’ve prayed many times
The pressure stands tall
I’m mistakenly claiming a statement
And it’s not that it doesn’t mean anything
But the fact is I want to fully
Put my existence into my beliefs
And my body’s holding me hostage
Along with my mind and thought life
It’s almost too much at once to manage
I’m going to overcome and rise above my strife
Please since I’m stubborn, will you help me focus?
I know You know me, why won’t I take time
Out of my day which could be the last, to notice
All of the wonderful things in my life
And I want to get to know You more
To find out peeking, to know what’s in store
But just to know You would be good enough
Since I live down here and You lift me up!
