"For Example"

I’m driving fast down 29
I’ve got nobody to keep in mind
I’m thinking nothing and everything
Simultaneously at the same time

I don’t mean to cause everyone to be compared to
Me, the one, who didn’t ever think for the others
And now, my name is on a tombstone as a sample
In parent’s talk and the ever-so-familiar “For example”

I’m feelin’ fine, alright, and I’m chuggin’ and lovin’
My new freedom, and I’m huggin’ people I found
And I’m askin’ everyone in sight, who was I rubbin’?
Cause now I have a STD to be luggin’ around

Speakin’ of me, speakin’ of the
Person who didn’t think
And I don’t mean to ramble
But did you know, for example

The guy who went around
Thinkin’ he was the man
But he was just a clown
Didn’t ever wash his hands

He was in jail
After only an hour
He bit the dust
Boat didn’t set sail
The sweet went sour
The iron turned to rust

And now it’s awkward ‘cause when you’re talkin’ to
Your mom or dad, they’re mad and you’re sad
Because you wish it had just happened to you
Didn’t have to have this conversation, didn’t have to feel bad
And now, this situation you’re hatin’ is now an example
