Love lingers on
When you’re gone
When the words
Have been said
When the doors
Have been shut
It’s still there
Not going…anywhere
Love sits on the porch
Waiting to drop in
Scoops you up like a stork
Douses itself in your pool again
Knock you senseless
And all you know
Is repentance
Falling back into your ways again
Like a moth, it hides
Up in the ceiling fanlight
Not knowing it’s there
You let all your secrets out again
Like it moth, it blends
Once you’ve told the way
It automatically, like a trend
Scares the hell out of you again
It won’t approach you, it just attacks
