"Journey...Where We Started"

It's just a journey
A journey, journey, journey
Of where they started...

She acts like it doesn’t bother her
He knows it does
She’s stressed out and she’s tired
He knows how to love
Her the right way
And he thinks what he says has no effect
On how she plans out her day
But little does he know that she does
And she loves him dearly
But their parents are always interfering

He’s stressed out with school
She always follows the rules
He does things to spark controversy
She just wants God to give her simple mercy
He wishes he could have inspiration
That’s where she comes in
He’s mesmerized and entertained
And she can’t contain
They are the happiest they’ve been
Although, they’ve committed a sin
It still doesn’t feel right
They just want to fight
For their freedom of choice
And that’s when that boy
Kidnapped the girl and went
She never knew it was him
If she had, she wouldn’t have screamed
Oh but nothing is what it’s supposed to seem

They’re on a journey
They’re slowly learning
What it is to be living
In the real world giving
Their all, for the most part
This is the place where we started

She likes to be with him
As he does with her
Their parents are against them
But oh how those parents learned
That the kids knew what they were doing
Simply focusing on stooping
To their parent’s level and so they left
They left the world behind they lived
And then we all shed a tear
Because through an hour glass time sifts
Their story isn’t over yet
And this is one you won’t forget

When would it all be done?
When can we all be gone?
Songs we all have learned
Are about to be burned
And replaced with this one
Everything’s come undone
For this couple’s destiny
It’s always gotten the best of me

They drove down that road
Thinking they were alone
They traveled in a circle
The hare they were both
Police played the part of the turtle
And we all blatantly know
What happened in that fable
At least their homes will be stable
When they get locked up
For robbin’ a bank
And she is plucked
She wanted to stay
But now she’s not
In the same place
She was driven away
While his face is beaten up
He’s got the worst luck
His baby’s gone and he’s livin’ still
He’s got what it takes, he’s got the will

Livin’ in the big house
Missin’ the woman he misses most
And she writes to him every day
She tells her mom not to say
Anything at all that involves
Her man, her lover, her strength
His head is spinnin’ like a roller rink
Except it’s spinnin’ backwards
And he wishes he could go the other way
Back to where he started
With her and he remembers the day

[in past tense]
They were on a journey
They were slowly learning
What it was to be living
In the real world giving
Their all, for the most part
This is the place where we started

He’s getting out today
She’s been waiting patiently
With a smile on his face
The tattered bruises still remain
As she kisses his, it all washes away
Like a lake with no pollution
She was the ultimate resolution
To all of his problems he was havin’
Now married with kids laughin’
They put to rest the old story
Where young love finds true glory
