Feel the air brush you by
Feel the tears in his eyes
Dying on the sidewalk
Lying unable to talk
Thousands fly passed
None stop to ask
“Are you okay?
Is there anything I can do?
Anything?
I’ll help in any way
If it means you’ll live today”
Stretched with mouth open
Same pose no motion
For hours losing life
Thousands crowd around
As he silently cries
No one listens to the sound
I walked by him lying there
I asked of his health to show I care
Just a whisper of gratitude
And he got up and flew away
I had the hugest smile which brightened my mood
Now that I think back and pray
A simple test, an inquiry from above
To see past image and pride shoved aside
If I’m making the right decision
Instead of laying there wishing
And I think He knew all along
That it would be me to send Him on
