"Me & My Guitar"

As I sit and can’t talk
For the third day in a row
And keep myself quiet
I sit in the corner and go

Straight for my stringed instrument
It was an awesome incident
I was glad when it occurred
And all I was concerned
With was becoming a rock star
Oh a pair, me and my guitar

Strumming it, I ask myself
Why I don’t make it my profession
And while I can’t imagine my hell
Changing all because of my obsession

When I found my stringed instrument
In the back of my closet
Took it out and started to play
Didn’t even once open my mouth to say
Anything, but I sung really loud and hard
And there it was, just me and my guitar

Pluck a nerve each time you speak like voodoo
I neither listen nor does it stick when I do
So it’s useless, ‘cause you’re not getting through
I speak slowly so you don’t misconstrue

And I went upstairs to my six-string
Locked my door, and I began to sing
Over the noise of you telling me
To make my choice and I repeat
I’m gonna be a rock star
Yep, that’s us, me and my guitar
