"Ornery"

It’s the brackish water that we drink
That we don’t even stop to think about
But the thought of a Heaven and Hell
Is all too easy to disavow

Love is as difficult as you make it to be
Love one another, love your enemy
I can’t fill the shoes of every man
I’ll help you, though when you need a hand

Far from Heaven and far from God
Don’t wear that “I’ve got faith in myself” façade
It being easy to sin, we know we all do it
To begin a new chain of events, there’s nothing to it!

Change your surroundings
Unwilling at first, you will be
Concentrate on the resounding
Closeness you’ll feel to the
One, high Above, Who knows
All you’re thinking of
Even before the thought comes up
He planned you and He made you
Face it, God is the One who created you
He knew what you’d do
He knew if you’d ever believe
He knew if you’d be true
He knew what you’d achieve
You may not know your purpose now
But soon enough you’ll find out
