"Prisoner In Disguise"

Haven’t paid much attention to the days as they pass by
Sleepwalking through the year as I opened my eyes
It’s changed my life forever, now considered wise
Freed from my cage, I was a prisoner in disguise

Sure I believed in science
It was all an act of compliance
To conform was to fit in
Controlled by the likes of Satan

Didn’t think I would arrive
Didn’t think I’d ever believe
Sure it’s gotten harder as time goes by
Since I first approached on All Hallow’s Eve

My salvation was the creation
Of a path garnering appreciation
But never pursued until fully enthused
That all of my sins have been excused

I never knew I was a prisoner until now
Glad the real me has been found out
Even the most brilliant minds could not figure
The hardest problem to solve and how it was configured
Makes me thankful that this is the way He wanted to tell me
Instead of something terrible like a tragedy
