Engine’s off, and in drive
With the emergency brake
Climbing and descending
On the same stair
Putting forth an effort
But getting nowhere
Time slips, drink sips
Cleanliness, friendliness
Not caring about caring
Even life is nothing without sharing
Sleep on the road up in arms with hope
For it to take you away to the ocean
Gradually stepping up to the plate
Not formally or normally ready to partake
Secrecy is only a jewel
When the pearl tells the diamond
How’s the glass you told?
I met up with your token of admiration
And I was given the gold
To fill the world with lies and
It started when we first became friends
Getting nowhere, face to face
Behind backs, running and gunning
Down chances to chase
