"Showoff"

You act differently because ya think ya look cool
In front of this new person who ya wanna fool
Talking in slang when usually you’re a know-it-all
We all know you’re just trying to be a showoff

It happens each time
You feel the need to go out of line
Critical of how you act
Around other’s parents, except you lack
The niceness factor, it’s invisible
To me, your life wouldn’t be livable
You are far from modest
You are far from ‘cool’
You are just a popularity drifter
Stupid and willing to fail in school
Just to keep the rep. of a ‘class clown’
Teachers talk DOWN TO YOU with a frown
Supply the evidence that you aren’t a total dumba**
Considering you like to fail tests and cut class
All just to survive and be included
You need to find out the truth and be diluted
By taking the willingness, add it to the success
Weaknesses show and better to be less
Known and talked about to keep away from rumors
Surrounding myself around people with sense's of humor
Frequency colliding in your hallway
And I’m just waiting for it all to fall away

You’ve got G’s and homies
Now that you’re a full blown phony
It’s all good to you because
You think you got girls lustin’
Over you and they take you home
To their parents after calling on the phone
To arrange dinner and a movie
When really she just wants to share her STD
No condoms, “Ooh…cool” I can picture you sayin’
And that’s when she’ll turn her back
Taking off all of her clothes and layin’
On the bed callin’ on you to hit the sack
But do you really wanna be known
As the kid who didn’t comprehend
All of the hints that she had combed
Over your head and then
All ya did was bend
The rules to look cool and ya sent
Yourself into your deathbed
Be yourself kid, that’s all I had said

Don’t be a fake
For pete’s sake
It’s alright to make
A mistake
But don’t fall in the lake
With the others who bake
In the sun
Having no fun
At all, at all, at all
Do you hear me, y’all?
No bragging needed
All advice heeded
Just follow it
Everyone knows
Tolerate it now
Because you didn’t
And it shows
You call on the bad
When you should
Receive the good
Too late
You made that date
To be so acquainted
With death, ya fainted
After ya found out
That you doubted
The system
All along
Friends?
They’re gone
Livin’ their lives
The way you should have
Now ya can’t
I hope you feel bad
