Fighting style: prefers fighting barehanded, though she is adept at fighting with the katana. Not afraid to be brutal, and sees human criminals at the same level as fixed ideas- and to be treated accordingly. However, usually prefers avoiding fights, unless angered or provoked.
Personality *Note: Kayla's current personality occurs during the events of The Stranger and subjected to change over time.
'The best damn defense is, quite frankly, to run' seems to be her motto. Kayla is very fast, and has spent most of her life running and hiding.
Living in isolation for most of her life did not help her people skills much. Kayla appears to be blunt, cold, and secretive at first, but she is really quite vulnerable, kind and shy. Remember that she lived in New York City, where making a new friend simply means another opportunity for your wallet to be stolen. Very good at adapting to new environments, Kayla's needs for luxury and necessities are few. Living in New York City and in constant fear of being discovered by Von Reichter has also made her very paranoid and distrustful.
The three months spent in Meridiana with her sister, Cybersix, has lowered Kayla's wall considerably, though she still has problems interacting with humans. She does not hold them in the same regard as Cybersix, as something to be protected: rather, she thinks they are 'in the way' of her quest to kill Von Reichter. Kayla shares with Cybersix, a love for literature, as well as painting. She also grasps humor quite easily even if she rarely demonstrates it.
Kayla claims she does not like children, but the truth is, she has a HUGE soft spot for them. This is why she gets along with Julian so well. However, she does not share the same common sense Cybersix does, and will bring along Julian during fights, "as long as he behaves himself," much to Cybersix's dismay.
Facts: -Kayla has admitted that, since she was created a few years after Cybersix, there are a few differences between her and her older sister. Unfortunately, Kayla has no idea what they are and has not demonstrated any advanced traits. (Possible opening for a possible sequel!)
-Kayla has trained her body to require less sustenance than Cybersix. This means, of course, that her strength is compromised, but she can still easily defeat most of Von Reichter's super-strong creations. Her speed is still unmatched.
-Kayla has far more knowledge of the history of Von Reichter, and the cybers, having experienced the mass killings herself. She is slightly more intelligent, thanks to her high-quality education.
Relationships
*Note: For those with fan characters, Kayla has only 'met' a few. Since the community of fan-created character is literally growing by day and some of their timelines clash with my created timeline (some fan characters occur *after* the Cybersix season finale, while Kayla is in Meridiana before the season finale), I will only include a few in this profile (this, of course, may change as time goes by).
Cybersix: Cybersix is Kayla's sister. She loves her even if they have occasional disagreements. She feels that Cybersix is too protective of her, and everyone else.
Data 7: Kayla respects the big cat and wants to earn his trust . Unfortunately she did shoot him with a tranquilizer dart. When they fight together, it is strictly business, much to Kayla's disappointment.
Lucas: Kayla has not met Lucas yet. All she knows is that Cybersix is crazy about him, much to her amusement.
Julian:Julian was the first person in the city to show compassion to her. As a result, Kayla and Julian are fast friends, one of the few friends in the city that she has.
Lori: Kayla has not met Lori yet.
Jose: Kayla has met Jose a couple of times during fights. Kayla thinks he is nothing but a little kid who has no idea what he's doing. Surprisingly, she underestimates him, as you shall see in part 10 of The Stranger
Von Reichter: She hates him with a fiery passion- much more than Cybersix. She will stop at nothing to kill him, and will not let anyone get in her way of doing so.
Relationships with Fan Characters
Mark Clarke's Midnight Five: Kayla still has yet to see this man, but trust me when I say that his role will become much more important in the coming future...
Bethany: Actually they have only met once (see Part 4 of the fan fiction): During their fighting, Cybersix and Kayla unintentionally crash in on Bethany's parents' dinner party. Bethany is, at least, grateful to avoid another dull dinner party. (^_^)
Cybersix_Chick's Erika:
While Kayla likes this little girl, because of her secret liking of children, she is also Jose's sweetie. Kayla tries to avoid her whenever she can to avoid detection, for fear the Erika will alert Von Reichter that there is another Cyber.
Ptrix's Lt. Kaji: Just as Cybersix had a brush with Yashimoto, Kayla has a similar experience with his cousin, the Lieutenant Kaji. Kaji was investigating at Von Reichter and approached Kayla, seeking information on Cybersix. Kayla, afraid that the man was after her sister, gave him misleading facts.
Cyber Poet's Kiara: While Kayla has never met Kiara, Kiara has certainly met her: she was the sole human witness of the mass killings of the cyber. When Von Reichter began killing his associates, the young girl was also put to death. Kiara came back, eventually, more powerful than before. Kiara likes Kayla, extremely, but the vulnerable cyber thinks that Kiara is working for Von Reichter, and usually runs away.
