Nirvana slowly ascended the steps, gun clutched tightly in her right hand.
She went to the baby’s room first, where little Dominik was bawling in his eyes out. She aimed, then pulled the trigger. The bullet entered the spot at the base of the head, where the skull meets the neck. The baby’s cries were silenced instantly. Within seconds, the blankets were drenched with blood.
Nirvana smiled, relishing the silence, then she left the room and continued down the hall to the twins’ room.
