Districts

The State of Vermont is broken down into eight districts, listed as followed along with the primary communities located within the district.

• Northwest (St. Albans, Morrisville)
• Chittenden (Essex Jct., Williston)
• Burlington (Burlington, So. Burlington)
• Northeast (St. Johnsbury, Newport)
• Capitol (Montpelier, Barre)
• West (Rutland, Middlebury)
• East (White River Jct., Springfield)
• South (Bennington, Brattleboro)

Northwest District-

• Grand Isle County
• Franklin County
• Lamoille County

Chittenden District-

• All of Chittenden County, excluding Burlington and South Burlington

Burlington District-

• Burlington
• South Burlington

Northeast District-

• Orleans County
• Essex County
• Caledonia County

Capitol District-

• Washington County

West District-

• Addison County
• Rutland County

East District-

• Orange County
• Windsor County

South District-

• Bennington County
• Windham County

In order to be eligible to represent one of these districts in the Green Mountain State Games, you must meet at least one of three requirements:

• Born within the district
• Graduated from/currently attend a high school within the district
• Currently reside within the district

A person may be eligible for more than one district, but they are only allowed to represent one.
