William B. HOBBS married a second time to Mary F. MORES and had Wendell N. HOBBS b. 24 Sep 1876 , Milo, Piscataquis, ME , d. Nov 1966 , New London, N.H. Wendell was well known and very active in his new home . In "Mirror to America, A History of New London, New Hampshire 1900 - 1950" by J. Duane Squires , Wendell is mentioned several times pg. 36,1933 on committee to study idea of establishment of zoning or planning. Page 64, 1934 town est. Municipal Court 1st Justice Fred S. Lovely appointed by Gov. Winant. Following death of Justice Lovely in 1940 Gov. Francis P. Murphy appointed Wendell N. Hobbs as his successor. Justice Hobbs held the post until statutory limit of age forced his retirement in 1946. Page 113 Talks about his owner ship of the one time "Hotel Sargent" renamed "New London Inn". Page 217, In the early spring of 1930 the New London Civic Association was formed. Its first president was Wendell N. Hobbs. Page 404 (genealogy section) 596. HOBBS, WENDELL N. operator, New London Inn. For some yrs. operator of Soo-Nipi Park Lodge with Harry Marvin. Town judge. Wife: Clara Hobbs.
