July 11th

Mike's car

I was riding with Mike again. The beam light was broke so time trials were done with a stop watch. Not always so accurate. Mike's time was a 15.38, which is a good time. He was 5th fastest and alternate for the Trophy Dash. His time was the same as Rod Skidmores. Rods was the first time so he made the Dash. Mike got a first in the Fast Heat.

In the Main Event things just wasn't going so well. It seems that they really do need to hire some officials that know what they are doing. After the first caution then when they were lining the cars back up again, three cars were put in front of us. One being Rod Skidmore and two being Bill Shura and the third being Nick Ioimo. Nick was one of the ones that spun out and to get a positon. Not supposed to happen. Mike was not aware that if he didn't agree with the line up that he could pull over and let the officials know. He is aware of this now. In the future if he don't agree with the officials decision then he will stop and let them know. This has happened to many times this year. That was only the first of the things to happen during that race. During another caution and once again the line up put Steve Peirce in the front. And then again we were put to the back of the pack because Bill Youngblood decided that he wanted to do a brake check. Vic Cochran hit us and we hit Youngblood. I guess that Nathan Fairall hit Vic Cochran and it caused his car to look like a Volkswagon. On the restart then Youngblood was put in front of us. I didn't like this guy 10 years ago and still don't like him today. Don't get me wrong, I do like most of these drivers and have alot of respect for them.

BUT THIS IS RACING.
