Well we did good at the time trials. We got a 14.58 and are currently in third place. It was alot of fun and while we were going around the track I was video taping our race. This gives us some insight as to what is going on.
Today we will race the heat races and then tomorrow it will be the Main Events.
We ended up in 5th place overall in qualifing. Mike Doss had someone else qualify Stephanie's car so it did not go out in the Trophy Dash. This put us in the dash and we took the trophy home.
During the heat race we had to start in the back and we finished third. We got blocked by a Stillman car and a Yaw car, but not Mike Yaw. This determined our place in the Main Event.
The odd heats were on the pole and the even heats were outside. We were in the fourth heat and so we started in 6th place. We were running a good race when Al Vogel, whom started in first position, got a little crazy and tried to put the 9 car of Peterson into Mike Doss. Mike Doss had started in the back and was in 3rd place almost 2nd. Al hit the Peterson car and 'caused a 5 car wreck. We all had to go to the back and start over. We ended up having to go off the track and have the fan shroud cut off as it was being hit by the fan. Once again we were all moving to the front when Al Vogel got even with our front tire and came down on it and put us in the wall. This caused us to not be able to finish the race. Looking at the video you can tell this was a deliberate attack. I guess that he really wanted to win the race. Well he didn't. Rod Skidmore who started on the outside front(2nd) ended up winning the race. Mike Doss ended up taking 2nd place. Another lap and he would have passed Rod. He lost 1st by a bumper. That is okay, we all had alot of fun and have all winter to fix the car. The bumper of the 1 car is gone as well as the roll cage is broke. The last thing on the video is hitting the wall.
Stay tuned for next year results. I really can't wait. I think that Mike is considering driving for Cousin's Racing. He will still keep his 1 car and bring it out occassionally.
