Louis J. Gorsha, 95, passed away this morning, January 17, 2014, at Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 95. He was born in Gilbert, Minnesota on May 26, 1918, the son of Frank and Josephine Gorsha. His family moved to Maple Hts., Ohio in 1923 and back to the family farm in Fayal Township, MN in 1933. After CCC camps, he left Minnesota for Cleveland, Ohio where he met and married Sophie Rogish on February 18, 1941. He worked over 30 years for the Superior Die Casting Company as a tool and die maker, foreman and manager. He retired to Cape Coral, FL in 1981 to RV travel, fish, golf and garden. He always loved making his surroundings better, building his own automated sprinkler system and garage elevator, from scratch long before they were commercially available. He loved to fish and golf and recorded 4 hole-in-ones in his career. He returned to the iron range with his family to visit his parents and friends annually for many years, including the Gilbert Centennial Celebration in 2008. He is survived by his loving children: Jackie Molnar and Gary Gorsha and his loving grandchildren: Kary Molnar and Jason Gorsha. Gorsha has now hit his third hole-in-one while golfing at the newly refurbished Cape Coral Executive Golf Course in Cape Coral, Florida. He accomplished this feat on the 150-yard 5th hole on Saturday, September 27, 2008 using a #5 wood. Louis is now 90-years-young! |
